Bobby's back! That's the biggest news from last night, and a
pleasant surprise it was! Well, a surprise to Jim and myself; I guess
Matt and Damon had known for some time. It was certainly nice to have
Bobby back with the group, and it was great timing, as the Sigil was a
group that Bobby helped to found.
Anyway, the Sigil (Kage, the cleric of Fenrys, who serves as the
group's focused, serious leader; Alturo, the dwarven cleric of Akadi;
Cullen, the group's thespian; Whilce, the fighter that worships Thor;
and Neiris, an archer) had found themselves in a cave in an unknown
land. Hearing a noise they went to investigate and found Tori. Tori,
an expert archer, had been an early member of the group. Turned to
stone some time ago, she had been taken by Erebus, the Magister, who had
promised to try and turn her back. Apparently he succeeded, although
how Tori came to be on the island has yet to be revealed. In any case,
she led the group to the top of a small hill above the cave, and the
group was able to get an idea of where they were.
They appeared to be on a very small island, one that was no more
than some half a mile or so in circumference. Offshore a few hundred
yards they saw a large boat. Beached in the sand were four smaller
boats. Fighting in front of the landing craft were two forces. One was
a group of humans in oriental costume (who apparently owned the boats,
as the boats were also decorated with an oriental motif). Their
opponents were a bunch of orcs, but with no skin on their heads; they
appeared to have bare skulls. The orcs were getting the upper hand, and
the Sigil quickly moved to help the humans. They managed to defeat the
orcs, but the humans were all killed before the battle ended, leaving
the Sigil alone on the beach.
Or almost alone. Standing in the surf was a beautiful woman named
Elizabeth. Not oriental, she claimed to have no idea how she got there,
and the group allowed her to accompany them. While Whilce, Neiris and
Alturo explored the ship anchored offshore, Kage attempted to Speak with
Dead on a fallen orc, in order to learn their plans. He was
unsuccessful, due to a language barrier, so he took one of the landing
craft and, along with Tori, Cullen and Elizabeth, made his way out to
sea, to join the rest of the party.
On the larger boat, Whilce, Neiris and Alturo had found no signs of
life. The boat seemed to be completely empty. Alturo found some charts
however, and was able to determine that the group was not on Faerun.
Neiris, while exploring the crow's nest, found that people had inhabited
the ship recently, as their was plenty of evidence of life. While
puzzling over their fate, he noticed a huge shape moving beneath the
ship. Just as he warned the others, gigantic tentacles arose from the
depths and began to batter the people on board.
The Sigil struck back, with Alturo, Neiris and Whilce fighting from
the larger craft, while Kage and Tori attacked from the smaller boat
which was approaching. They soon managed to wound the creature enough
that it fled. The Sigil regrouped on the boat, and were considering
their next move.

And that was the end. My thoughts to follow.
