Dear Lynn, Graham, David, Pat, Mary, Steve and all

Thanks so much for your welcome and thoughts. I am up to date on both =
the
firmware and transfer tool and think the firmware errors I get are =
probably
of the same frequency as everyone else. The issue with turning on, and
cutting out, however, hasn't improved with each firmware update.=20

BTW - does anyone know of a source of text versions of titles still in
copyright here in the UK? Of course I am willing to pay. Amazon only =
has a
small number of titles available as ebooks (which, I imagine, could be
relatively easily transferred into plain text), and bookshare.org titles
don't seem to be available to us here in the UK. I'm a big fan of
gutenberg.net and there are tens of thousands of titles there that are
obviously out of copyright but at the same time have stood the test of =
time,
but it would be good to have access to more recent titles too.

Cheers, Robin.

Hi Robin, and welcome to the list.

We have two BC's, none of which have ever had that switch-on problem you
talk about. Mine is out of action at the moment, but I used to have to =
reset
it every few days. But this wasn't much of an issue as it switched on
straight away and it only took a few seconds to tweak the speed, pitch =
and
sleep timer to the way I like them.

Have you tried updating your firmware?

Cheers,
