Mike,
did you mean to say blind students rather than users when describing the
bookport and courier? Both devices are intended for blind users, but some
people feel the BookPort is more aimed at students. One feature it
has which I hope will be implemented in some way on the BC is the ability to
search for a given text string. I know this has been raised before, but at this
time, I do think that particular feature is one that may set the two
units apart. I'm happy with my bc, especially since Springer has come out with
several updates fixing bugs and adding features, and they have yet to charge
for any of these. At the time I bought tmy unit, I especially
appreciated the fact that it came with 128mb instead of 64mb flash card. Now
with those cards becoming so cheap, maybe this isn't a big deal. but I thought
it was pretty nice to get a cheaper price and more memory.
