Hi all,

I have in my attic a record of various passages read in various types of 
English.  It is quite interesting to see the transition from one to the next.  
You're right that Old English is actually Anglo-Saxon, but most folks don't 
know that so I just use the vernacular Old English.    It's quite a sonnerous 
tongue if read well, sounds like Tolkien's Language of the Roherim.  <smiling>  
That's not surprising since Tolkien was a linguist.

this is a fascinating subject but may not be right for this list.
