As far as I'm concerned, any time you go back to something or some place that you've been to before, you can call it a return. As I recall it you (or someone) said that Alt-X and Alt-E did the same thing. My view is that what they do is very similar but not identical. That's why they are different commands. If they were the same there would be no need for two separate commands. I ain't going to bother about digging out old messages just to keep this discussion alive. So let's leave it at that. > I have a batch file named X.bat....see it below: <snip> > When I type "X", then I get Arachne whether > I used ALT-E or ALT-X to reach a DOS prompt. That's a good idea. I have a batch file for arachne that does the following: 1. copies one of several ACF files over ARACHNE.CFG (for whichever ISP I want to use) 2. sets the startup for arachne to the URGENT mail folder, the Inbox, or to my personal links page, in that order of preference 3. calls ARACHNE.BAT 4. on exit, checks for PPP.LOG, and if it exists warns "you are still online" and gives option of disconnecting, reconnecting or ignoring 5. compares the hotlist with a backup and if changed allows option of backing up 6. checks for anything in MAIL\TRASH, and if present gives option of deleting it Arachne at FreeLists -- Arachne, The Premier GPL Web Browser/Suite for DOS --
