So you are looking to build an application to broadcast audio? This scenario also seems to be broken when another application explicitly choose to stream to a specific device, instead of the default device. Also, do you do the same for default communication device? -----Original Message----- From: wdmaudiodev-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wdmaudiodev-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Robert Bielik Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 12:20 PM To: wdmaudiodev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [wdmaudiodev] Re: System and application sounds difference? I'll answer all question simultaneously: The VAD device has only a render endpoint (from the user viewpoint), my application has a private audio API towards it to stream audio. So, during my applications existance, my VAD is the default endpoint, and my application is streaming audio to another audio endpoint (with filtering in between).
