The 1 key doesn't work if predictive is switched on. Also Amro had a suggestion about pressing the No 1 key on the keypad if predictive text is turned on, that does not work for me either. I think Carol was going to try it. How about it then Carol? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 4:23 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: Smily Face Hi Eleanor I haven't used the E71, so don't know anything about it. But I can't imagine it being much different from any of those I have used. Presumably you have punctuation set to none or some, in which case, you should hear Talks say "smiley face". As for writing one in a message, then hearing it, press up arrow and then down arrow to read the last few words you have written, including "smiley face", or Talks and down arrow to read the entire message you have written. If doing all this doesn't work, I'm stuffed! (smiley face). Like I said I just get some sort of 'click' sound. Strange that as when someone sends one to me, it says smily face. ----- Original Message ----- From: Carol Pearson <mailto:carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 9:52 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: Smily Face Ah!
