Just one comment here amro, when I have predictive text on and press No 1, the first symbol I come to is a full stop and the next is not a colon either. Hold on people!OK. To write a smiley if predictive text is on, you only need to press number 1 twice. This will write a colon sign and a right bracket sign. Yes, without the dash, and that's a smiley face. Most people don't bother with the dash any more. You're not keeping up with the younger generation and internet forums folks LOL! Actually, I hardly come across any smiley faces written with the dash sign these days. Examples- :) :@ ;) :p. Suffice to say, from what I see, in text messages, people mostly just use the happy face sign and to a lesser extent the sad face sign.As of Talks reading smiley faces and sad faces, this how it works on my E66 using Talks 4 and when punctuation is set to none. Talks reads 'colon right bracket' and 'colon dash right bracket' as smiley face when reading line by line or reading all. When reading word by word or character by character, Talks reads the signs as they are. i.e. Talks says colon, right bracket and so on.P.S. When predictive text is on, pressing number 1 three times writes three exclamation marks. But I can't imagine it being much different from any of those I have used. Presumably you have punctuation set to none or some, in which case, you should hear Talks say "smiley face". As for writing one in a message, then hearing it, press up arrow and then down arrow to read the last few words you have written, including "smiley face", or Talks and down arrow to read the entire message you have written.
