Hi Carol How strange. On all the handsets I work with, I can honestly say I always try out the smiley face, and it works a treat. I haven't done anything to the dictionary, I just do colon dash and right bracket, and it says "smiley face", or "sad face" to colon dash left bracket. And I've used Talks for a long time, with most of the versions doing this ok. It definitely only works for me though when I set punctuation to none which is my preference anyway. I've switched punctuation to "None" and written my message and still nothing!
