I am puzzled.  maybe Barbra who has an e71 can throw some light on it for me as 
regards it not reading it because I do get a very soft 'click' sound when the 
cursor arrives on that line.

  Eleanor, try altering your punctuation to all and see if this works.  If not 
then we need to think again.  Once you have it announced you can then lessen 
the punctuation, checking that it still works.  (It certainly won't read those 
punctuation marks if set to none so probably wouldn't work!)

  I don't know this for sure though as mine does work.
