I have a suggestion for Peter Miller. If the company management is = reluctant to invest in simulation tools for his project, a DDR SDRAM = supplier may be willing to perform the simulation for him. I presume = this is because the SDRAM manufacturers have a financial interest in the = success of designs that use their silicon.=20 Anyway, I recently attended a seminar conducted by Micron in which they = very strongly recommended simulating the design. So much so that they = offered to perform a DDR SDRAM simulation at no charge. Of course, they = will expect the DDR SDRAM production part orders to be purchased from = Micron ;). I had the distinct impression that Micron had lost a certain = amount of business because the DDR SDRAM designs of their customers = faltered due to lack of simulation.
