It's not the pups. They get out and, most times, get to live in homes -- hopefully for life -- but even if not, at least for a little while anyway. Their parent dogs don't have a home to look forward to for many long years... if at all. They just live their lives in cages or runs producing litter after litter until they're all used up. How terribly sad an existence for a dog in our breed. We all know that GSDs are people dogs who love a job to do and need to feel connected to their family. How sad to think of them living their lives away from any source of love or comfort.
