Randy is absolutely correct. I will add that many of us are beyond the
age that permits training the dog to fly around the specialty ring and are
not willing to send our dogs to "camp _____" for months of training for said
specialty ring. We are seeing some excellent dogs at the AB shows these
days, and some of the more recently approved judges are recognizing a
good one. If you go to the Onofrio website and look up show results, you
might be pleasantly surprised at the names you see winning. A good dog is a
good dog, or that's how it should be.

What do you consider a good AB dog? A good German Shepherd should win in
either ring, PERIOD! Good German Shepherds are not appreciated in (most) AB
rings. First, most of the rings are too damn small. Second, most of the
judges are seriously lacking the proper knowledge to evaluate a goo GSD.
Your last statement is a beauty. We should be more concerned with what is
correct than what people think. Thats no way to judge a dog.
