It is easy to dislike double handling. However, just wait until your dog loses to a lesser specimen because he had no "attitude". I have seen minds change when this happens. Of course some doublers are terribly rude and obnoxious. I don't think this behavior is necessary. One of the best doublers I ever saw was Ann Mesdag. She would stroll majestically around the ring, and just happen to be in the perfect spot for her dog. Then there would be a slight jingle of keys. It was wonderful to watch.
