AND -- those who do can produce dogs who do not have it. As I've mentioned, my dear husband always said that ANY breeding is like a roll of the dice. Very precise and accurate records are an impossibility -- mostly because we are "human" after all. All we can do as dedicated breeders, is the best we can and breed only those we know to be properly healthy & to the standard given. Some recessives may not show up for a few generations even and that is frustrating for all. There is NO perfect dog but if we, as the good guys, try for it at least, it's all we can do.
