Subject: [pure-silver] Holy Jesus Ilford bumped its prices

I just bought a 5L jug of Ilford paper developer from Photoco here in
Montreal and it came out to $37.00CDN! Yikes! I used to never recycle paper
developer but I sure as hell am now!

That's still only $3.70 per litre for working solution. If you think of it that way it isn't so bad.

Powdered developers cost a lot less to ship so they are less expensive. Bromophen is very similar to Multigrade.

Another option is to get bulk ingredients and make your own developers. Ansco 130 isn't horribly expensive to make, and has a very long working life, even as a working solution. You can reuse it without guilt or shame because it is designed for it.
