There's a very funny Caruso recording. On it, in the middle of an aria,
the soprano Geraldine Ferrar is heard to say; "He's had a few martinis,
he's had a few martinis". After a few moments there is a crash. This
is the story. In the early days of recording, audio engineers
controlled the volume by having the soloist move either closer or
further away from the horn. One day Caruso, Ferrar, and others had been
out to lunch. When they returned the morning's recording session
continued. Caruso was singing too loudly and did not respond to the
engineers gestures to move away. Finally, the engineer pushed Caruso
away from the horn. Ferrar had tried to warn him that Caruso had been
drinking but he persisted. Caruso got pissed and slugged the engineer
which is the crash heard.

But at the same time I somehow think those people wouldn't be the same
when their portrait phots are taken. (Especially if compared to when
Churchill is drinking Martini, aka straight gin with olive. And don't
try to photograph anyone after drinking---waste of time---unless it's
for event photo.)
