I have a friend who is a custom cabinetmaker, when he
explained his procedure for quoting a job it consisted
of three things - the anticipated cost of materials,
the number of hours that he expected the job to take,
and a PITA factor -which was purely subjective.
Basically he quotes higher rates to the customers that
he doesn't want to deal with.
