As Bashful Bob suggested, look at costs closely... especially
refill costs.

Having had a laser, I will keep with my deskjet now that I know
I only have to refill the black ink cartridge (thanks to you
reminding me of the B&W only feature).
I only need it to print draft pages of my novels as they end up
being ebooks.
I use the draft pages for editing purposes. -- The ink might be
more expensive but the drums of a laser is what makes them less
than ideal.
If I was submitting to regular **print** publishers then yes, I
would have to have a laser printer.
