Sandi, You can rename the file without causing any problems, system-wise. But that doesn't necessarily mean the new name will show up as expected. Many of these fonts filenames are abbreviations, but they show up with much fuller names when you go to use them. So, try it and let us know if the new name takes over in all the right places. Another thought: It might depend on the app trying to access the font.
