Lee has his speakers on all the time. I don't. Maybe if I weren't so short
or moved them down within MY range of motion I would leave them on and turn
the volume down when some obnoxious music begins.
If I am waiting for mail and want to be alerted, I do turn the speakers on
and let it make the noise I chose to alert me. Otherwise, they are usually
off.
I wish the "new mail" icon would show up in the taskbar. It did once. Then
disappeared and never returned. Well, hush my mouth. As I sit here what does
appear? New mail icon. But it didn't stay very long. Ok. I stand corrected
on that one.

I would think with that small monitor you would like to have as much 'real
estate' as possible. You can change that by right clicking on your taskbar
and go to 'Properties' and uncheck the 'hide task bar'. By the way, if you
have your speakers on, it should beep at you when you get new mail.
