Tim,

I'm confused by your email. You appear to be using the iMac as your
baseline for cost and features. Are you trying to get the
functionality of an iMac at a lower price? Do you want to trade a
feature for another? The main point being processors. Then mini is
an old G4, with a small and slow HD, etc. You want to run iLife '06
which will obviously run much better on an iMac G5 (if you can find
one) or the new Intel Core Duo machine.

So you have a nice mouse and keyboard. Who says that you can't use
them with a new iMac? You mention monitors, a store selling used
hardware, and a box store selling last years remnants. Neither of
they will compare to the screen of a new iMac. What about all the
other features of the iMac that are not in the Mini? Remote and
Front Row. Built in iSight. Better video card, faster and bigger
HD, faster super drive, faster buss', able to accept more RAM,...

Could you please think about this and let us know your objectives so
that we can offer some relevant opinions?

Thanks!
Dave
