Thanks all for the input! You are talking to a guy who for the past four years or so has been using an original iBook. I recently 'upgraded' myself to a iMac DV! (a testament to Apple computers and the Mac OS?). They both have been stable, reliable and ran OS X well with RAM upgrades. So anything new would be fast for me. So, I'm more than aware to making the low end work and staying within my ne= eds. As Tee pointed out earlier, I'm just trying to balance my needs vs. wants and finding a price level that I'm comfortable with and can justify. I really focus on music and photos and would love to start using iMovie and iDVD. With Apple introducing the mini, it makes it another choice for a desktop system. If I had a monitor it would be no problem, but factoring in the cost of a LCD one (which I really need due to space) it comes pretty close to a iMac. There is a refurbished one here: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/canadastore.woa/72108/wo/h= V537Z00Txdx21KKJ0B1utPcWc8/0.0.0.19.1.0.8.7.3.5.1.1.6.1.5.1.0.5.0 and saw a 17" at Future Shop for $1400 - really have dropped in price since the Intel introduction. Decision, decisions...
