Okay, that answers the question then. At some point, an Outlook calendar
is required. The OWA solution is not available for standalone Outlook
clients, though. As you note, an Exchange Server must be present to host
the interface to mailboxes, calendars, etc. What you're describing was a
big part of the "Digital Dashboard" initiative.

So, again, her IT geek will have to be involved to offer this solution.
