Does the relay click when the power comes on? Could the relay be stuck? On 28/02/2014 8:58 AM, Tayloe, Dan (NSN - US/Tempe) wrote:
Does having the input at ground turn off the transmit? If so, how about a 4.7K series resistor and then a 4.7K from the base to ground. Sometimes the digital output of a CPU simply will not go low enough, so a resistive divider is need to help turn off the transistor. - Dan -----Original Message----- From: minima-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:minima-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ext jerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, February 28, 2014 12:25 AM To: minima@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [minima] Re: Stuck in Transmit This has really got me stumped. I changed the Q23 resistor back to a 4.7k and added a 10k pullup resister from pin 5 on the micro to ground. no luck. If I disconnect the R/T line from the main board the LCD switches to RX. When the pin 5 R/T line is Hooked to the main board it switches to TX. With the 47k resistor I had .586 on the base of Q23, with the 4.7k I have .576 on the base. All the functions of the FN button work good. It toggles the R.I.T, it swaps the VFO, It resets the VFO. I have 5v on the Key pin and 5v on pin 5. The tuning works great. The digital board seems to be fine. I don't know what to do next. I measure 0.7V on the base of Q23 when in RX, but mine is without the pull-up and with a 47K so probably not the best comparison! Cleaning between traces under a microscope and now I have 5v on pin 5 of the digital board. My display reads: A= 14,2000 RX. And the second line reads: USB RX 0t!. But I'm still stuck in transmit. I measured the voltage on the 47k resister feeding the base of Q23, on the digital board side it is 3v on the base side of Q23 it's .57 Should I change that back to a 4.7k? What should the voltage be at that point? Look very carefully. - f Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel -----Original Message----- From:<jerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sender: minima-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tue, 25 Feb 2014 23:17:50 To:<minima@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Reply-To: minima@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [minima] Re: Stuck in Transmit Is there supposed to be 5v on pin 5 of the digital board? I have 5v on pin 2 but nothing on pin 5. I tried the pullup resistor, didn't work. I changed the 4k7 to 47k on Q23, didn't work, still stuck in transmit. Are you sure the PTT button is not stuck pressed or something like that? There are two things that can switch the minima in transmit: the ptt button being pulled to ground (pin 5 of the arduino) or the cw key being pressed (pin 24 of the arduino). In normal rx configuration, both should be at +5V thanks to the internal pull-ups resistors. thomas On Mon, Feb 24, 2014 at 5:52 PM,<jerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:I finished my MB and hooked it to the controller. I connected the tune control to the control board and wired 12v to controller and 12v to the MB. I wired a switch to the Fn control pins, I wired the BFO pin on the MB to the BFO pin on the control board. I wired the T/R pin on the control board to the R/T pin on the MB. I wired pin 11 on the control board to the LPF pin on the MB. I left all the other pins on the control board empty. My LCD on power up reads: A 14,200 2 USB TX 0 I have power to the TX side of the MB. But pressing the FN does nothing. I can tune up and down freq., it changes from USB to LSB at the right times. but won't come out of tramsmit. Any ideas. K5LRU Harwood, Texas
