you could go to the bag sale at my favorite store
and for ten bucks clothe yourself several times over or
on the other side of the river enter a contest
where you put your name in a hat
and if it gets drawn go into the dressing room of the sponsoring thrift and remove all your clothes retaining some bottom coverage if you wish to risk the points
the bell sounds
out you run
to don
every kind of clothing
you can get on
after another bell
you stand still and then with music playing
remove layers
a winner and three naked losers are declared
he keeps all clothing he chose
skirts 'n' all
also a gift certificate
they add this experience to memory which builds
and then wears down
in the old folks home
if given their appetite for risk and living
they get there
they'll have plenty of time
to figure out why they passed this day this way and
what if not money it might have been about

late night at
amalgamated scribblers ink
creating tomorrow's poems today
yesterday's poems last week
an' days of auld lang syne
an' another round of poorblind miltons
for me an' my furry pal here
the cat
