The main story, headlined in the biggest type on the right is an "angry
scoop" about the way in which politicians and government bureaucrats
enjoy nicely padded pensions while those of ordinary company employees
are being scaled back.

Next (the white on red type) comes a story directed at scandal-plagued
Tanaka Mariko, daughter of a former prime minister and former ally of
Prime Minister Koizumi. Headline reads "Mariko, are you starting a new
party or getting a divorce?"

The two stories at the top of the center block concern, first, the
hot-spring resort to which a famous actor went just before he died and
the anger of Q-chan's coach at her failure to qualify for the Athens
Olympics (Q-chan became a celebrity by winning the gold in women's
marathon at the last games.)

Then come stories about how it's possible to buy a cheap condominium at
auction (reflecting the recent overbuilding in urban areas) and a
famous financial analyst's advice on using credit cards and how to play
the market.

The two stories on the lower left are both about baseball, one about a
Yomiuri Giants player named Horiuchi who has hit 300 runs, and one
about Matsui, who now plays for the New York Yankees, who is hitting
.300 and stolen thirty bases.

The three sexy looking young women are all featured in nude photographs
and/or provocative poses found scattered throughout the magazine.

The headline on the upper left reads, "That beautiful young pro
wrestler's first nudes!"

This is a representative assortment of the sorts of material featured
in weekly magazines: politics, celebrities, personal finance, sports
and sex.
