Hi
I have heard 17 years for patents but I.m not sure
because everybody seems to have a different figure. As
for the focus confirm, I'm not so sure they would want
to go with it. I have used the original AL-1 and an RX
as well as the various EOSes on manual. What I've
always found is that with a split image screen and
diopter correction I can focus as well or better
myself. I really don't think it's that much of a
benefit except in very special situations. Perhaps
that's why they got rid of it with the RX2. Whenever I
use my RX I ignore the confirm altogether and don't
have a problem with focusing. There really is no
substitute for what I guess you might call focus on
demand. I learned that when I got into EOSes and the
N1.
