The automation per se isn't the problem but the fully semi-silvered mirror=
diverting viewfinder light to the AF or focus confirmation sensor would be=
the weakest link in the viewfinder system=2E No matter how good the rest =

the system is the light loss for the electronic focus confirmation would
limit the viewing quality=2E R bodies from the R4 on to the R9 have a ful=

semi-silvered mirror to allow for the multiple metering patterns using a
single meter cell, so it's unlikely that with this metering setup we'll se=

a viewfinder as good as the SL2's, and the additional light loss for an
AF/focus confirmation system further degrades the viewing system=2E
