I am running FS9 on my secondary machine, usually as Tower view for control, the main machine runs the IVAC software. Due to the low spec, and definitely the video, I do not get much above 30 frames, that's at max res and most of the sliders at 75% or better. My previous AMD single core 8 year old machine, run FS9 at about the same, but struggled with FSX. It is a different story if I load FS9 onto my main machine, alongside FSX. Like you say itd about machines and the good spec you need for fsx. I am fortunate to be having such a system this week hopefully but I will always keep fs9 because like you john its nice to delve into the past occasionally.. Ive still also got fs98 and fs2004, it really gobsmacks me in the advances the simulator series have made, simply brilliant. I really hope ms dont ruin microsoft flight, we will see. Keep well, adam
