Milton, It sounds like you are one of the ones who had retinopathy of prematurity, whose retina was turned so that what you see as straight-ahead is actually not. But that is not exactly what Daniel and I were referring to in terms of peripheral vision, where we'd be looking at something in the center while at the same time trying to use our side-vision to read or see detail. Your having to turn your head either outward or inward to make it appear to you that you're seeing someone face-on is still using your central vision, not your periphery. That's the way I interpret it by your description. It's very similar to the way my first wife's vision was where she was accused many times of not looking at someone when she was talking to them, but she would turn her head more to her right to see someone straight ahead. it was just the way her retina had been turned.
