Thats a good point, but they face the same obstacle whatever the
programatic API they have to move to; unless we have some kind of
XML+pixmap mangling API that lets you manipulate the UI basics to add a
bit of extra functionality (c.f. javascript). That makes it a much more
serious undertaking.
