Unticking that option solves the problem. Oops, sorry about that.
As you will have seen I'd come to the same conclusion before your
posting appeared. Does show where the bug lies.
I suppose OP should have look for some sort of "up call" (RISC OS
terminology - the Windows equivalent escapes me at the moment) and when
the referenced file is changed automatically update the document
contents.
I think that is how it should work, but it would mean that there would
be no need for dragging/dropping the picture into the document.
