Well i guess when you generalize about people its not fair sorry to all
our usa born people who have gaine da taste for the best CANADIAN PACFIC
part of my familly is American to so proably my own cousin wants my hidetoo.
But being in bussines for 42 years I have had much more of a relationship
with american bussiness people . I find a lot of them can,t understand this
country north of the border that things are different . I think one thing
for the model railroad industry is how big the railways are up here sea to
sea not so in the USA so a new yorker might not be interested in Union
Pacfic but theres 150 million people who live in former NYC territory thats
a big market and people in Council Bluffs aren,t gong to relate to nYC or
Central of New Jersey. but a person in Vancouver sees CPR maybe a little
different than a person in Montreal but still CPR but still CPR so there is
a big potential market . Now one might argue that the younger generation
won,t be turned on by steam well just watch who is in the crowds when 2816
comes to town or 2860 .Now I may sound off about the model manufacturers in
the USA but maybe we have not been to smart not using the power of the
inernet so to our American members show your smart by e mailing mth this
weekend and you the rest of you I don,t care where you are from . Now attent
ion N scale people I understand your plight two things to keep in mind HO
is 80%of the market and hey a n scale Royal Hudson great idea not to much
detail needed . Just look how this Royal Hudson thing has got going If
you want to see it e mail and MTH and while your at it e mail True LINE
TRAINS ofr a super plastic Royal Hudson . if they ever get the CNR u2g,s
here. If we push we might see a Royal Hudson before the Leafs win the
Stanley cup again sorry to all the Americans out there . REGARDS DAVID HILL

Attention all Cp sign group members who model in HO get on the internet and
bug MTH trains to bring out the Royal Hudson in an east and west version in
HO Look if a couple hundred of us do it they might just get the message .
But of course all Americasns are kind of dumb but the only way to wake them
up is to push them or kick them in the pants , they just might get the
freaking message lol.

To all,
I got the same response from MTH when I contacted them by email just after
their second HO scale steam locomotive, of a triplex was released (after
the
Pensylvania 4-6-2). I was told then (at least a year ago), that they did
have plans to bring out, in HO, all of the Canadian Steam Locomotives they
have released on "O" scale. So they are coming, but just when is another
story, I'm still hopeful for a year from now, but it could and likely will
be longer than that. They have since released 4 additional US steam
locomotives in HO scale, so it may be that when they have finished with
all
of the US models, they will commence the Canadian models.

This didn't get much response when I posted it to the BC SIG group
last week, so maybe this group might be interested:
I attended the Amherst Train Show last Saturday, and took the
opportunity to corner one of the representatives of MTH (Mike's Train
House.) I have ben ogling their O scale version of the Royal Hudson,
and I asked the representative if they would be coming out with that
locomotive in HO Scale. His answer, "Eventually, we will, but it's
not on the schedule for the next 12 months." This is a very hopeful
answer from my viewpoint, as MTH's HO locomotives have been coming out
in the $450-500 range, including their digital system that is DCC
compatible. This is about 1/4 of what I've heard upcoming brass
versions will go for.
I mentioned that there was quite a group of us who have built up a
string of BC Rail Rapido passenger cars painted by PWRS that are
waiting for a Royal Hudson. He in turn said that the O scale version
had been quite successful, and he would expect similar results in HO
scale.
I'd love to see 2860 in either BC Rail or CP colors, especially at an
MTH price. Maybe we can start a campaign!
