Open letter to everyone this is ironic for years I kept hearing everyone bitch about how the brass didn't,t run very well it was for collectors .then Division point comes along offers models that are absolutely stunning to look at and every detail and what's really good about them they have true percisionmotors and gearheads the motor they use is 4 times the cost of the average can motor but it works !!So no Division point is for operators .Now fortunately for me I belong to a Club with a huge layout 12 car passenger trains kinda get lost on it takes 39min real time to do the CPR section the CNR section 47mins GRRR!!!! running at acceptable speed not slot car style like little kids . So I want a locomotive that performs first the extra detail . ok comes with the model now expensive depends who you look at it $2000.00 for something that lasts a life time I hear that from guys who just bought a new $30,000.00 automobile and believe me 30 grand doesn,t buy a nice car nowadays its more like we will take your sole !!!!then . what's it worth in 5 years on a trade maybe $5000,00 what's that $2000.00 engine worth probably over the $2000.00 mark unless some poor widow believes her husband that he bought that Division Point Brass for $169.95 "on sale DEAR!!!" and she wants $50.00 for it at a flee market . Why can,t I find that lady !!!!! Now I received a e mail from MTH they admitted they were swamped with e mails. this was not my original idea I got it from Jean Mark Chaput a motivational speaker who helped people with problems now what we have to do is send the same e mail once a week to mth pick a day and send it once a week . by the time a couple of months goes by MTH will announce a Royal Hudson just to shut us up because they will be so tired of hearing it . Alittle village in Northern Quebec got a road built to them because a villager showed up at the highway ministers office each day to put the idea to mim, After four months." yes you can have your highway five million of tax payers money got spent !!!! Gee all we want is an affordable Royal Hudson with DCC ,Sound ,Smoke, and reasonable . What if we get two Royal Hudsons I will be obligated to buy both ouch. "gee honey it was on sale at George,s for only $179.95" Well she tell me about a the great deals she gets on junk from the Shopping channel. I want a MTH Royal Hudson as much as anybody but if it comes out in Division Point i could be convinced to splurge . (se my sole) regards DAVID HILL

Royal Hudson and D10 WEll i have news to those who want a Royal Hudson well
good news I had a 3/4 hour chat with Ken at Division Point Saturday morning
. This is a company that is interested in building  true works of art .

Dave you seem to have missed the point of the whole discussion - We want
an Affordable Hudson. A Division Point model will be wonderful but I do
not consider them affordable. It will be aimed at the collectors market,
not the runners.

We want a runner model from an open source so that it is available
easily to anyone.

Baring someone with a small fortune coming out of the woodwork to make
the model there are only four reasonable choices:

1) Walthers in their P2K line. Would be around $400-$500 and have QSI
sound. Pros - easily available. Cons - Not likely to happen.

2) MTH. Would be around $400-500 and have the MTH digital system in it.
Pros -  reasonably available, Cons - MTH digital (vaguely DCC and motor
voltage issues) and Toy Train sound.

3) True-Line Trains. Would be around $500 to $600. Would have QSI sound.
Pros - would be reasonably available. Cons - no track record yet with
steam engines. Hopefully this will be rectified this year.

4) Rapido. Would be $500-600. Would have MRC sound. Pros - readily
available. Cons - MRC DCC. Does not yet have a track record with
locomotives or steam engines.

I would accept a model from any of the above. Sound and DCC issues can
be resolved by replacing the decoder. The motor in the MTH model might
be a problem.

If we could wean Jason off of MRC DCC and into Soundtraxx sound decoders
I would prefer a Rapido Model.

Other sources have been suggested but I would rule them out based on
price or ease of availability.
