Well, I can at least explain "elfqueen." It's sort of weird, actually, how I got it. Okay, so I love love love love love Lord of the Rings (the books much more than the movies, but both really). They were what turned me into a fantasy-lover and I have Tolkien to thank for setting me on the path to try serious writing...because I wanted to be as good as he was. Ha! Anyway, a few years ago I had a group of friends who loved it every bit as much as I did; we were totally obsessed, to the point that we had LOTR nicknames. One of my best friends nicknamed me Galadriel. I never saw the point, but she said that it was because the expression I get on my face when I'm writing, singing, or playing the piano reminded her of Galadriel. My nickname has since become Samwise Gamgee since I now have a "Frodo" (another best friend who fits the part very well), but when I got my own e-mail address at age thirteen, I chose elfqueen to honor my friend's nickname for me. Yeah.

I deleted "email handles" from the subject line but forgot to delete the question. I meant to delete it because I can't find the list I've been keeping, but your cherryjam was on it. Also, if I can remember them, girlyscream, elfqueen, captaincynic, youngbeautyqueen, xoxswimchik,fuzzypurplecouch,greensleeves1,captainsly,wildcat, coasterfreak, solsticesinger, ldspeaker,I didn't remember but found another list; I've been keeping a list of people who want books and these are some of their "handles." Creative bunch, aren't they--and one does wonder what the name says about the person, why he/she picked it. Thanks for explaining yours, Judy.G.CindyP.S. Siobhan said her name was pronounces sha vahn--soft a and accent on the last syllable. I was way off.--- On Tue, 5/27/08, Judy s. <cherryjam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:From: Judy s. <cherryjam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: names, pronounciation, To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 8:55 PM How do you pronounce Siobhan because I'm sure as heck that I have no idea what it should sound like! grin. I do notice people's email names, and I get asked about my email addy all the time. smile. I picked my email address name because I love anything made with cherries, and because I needed something easy for my Dragon software to recognize when I speak it. smile. Judy s.
