How about this one? Remember the old StarMan movies imported from Japan? I remember a scene in which the characters were in a spaceship. In the background there was a wall covered with dials and gauges and switches made, supposedly, to look very hightech. I started looking closely at that backdrop and realized that it was painted egg cartons.

Chela, you're a hoot! And Roger, I remember that movie! I've noticed that in other B-grade movies too, especially old Westerners.Sometimes I think it's the stuff filmmakers do that they think we won't notice that catch my attention the most. I'm not sure if this translates well for those who are blind, but maybe I can describe it. One of the things that always catches my attention is when there is a scene with an animal, and if you know anything at all about the specific type of animal you can tell that the animal actor is the wrong gender for the part. One popular movie from the '80s totally had me in stitches throughout, even though it is definitely not a comedy, because of this kind of thing. The movie is supposed to be about this virile stallion and how its life has been corrupted and ruined by the greed of the owners. Except that the horses chosen to play the part of the virile stallion are a rather fat mare (a female horse) for some scenes, and a gelding (a castrated male horse) in others. I guess the filmmakers thought either no one would notice, or that it didn't matter. But I just couldn't help giggling every time they showed the supposedly spirited masculine stallion, and it was this fat mare. Kinda ruined the whole point of the movie for me! grin.Judy s.
