Upon the advice of our eldest son I have both Google and Bing installed. Sometimes, just for the heck of it, I search both engines. They do produce different results at about the same response time. Additionally I point out that I am quite deaf and normally do not have to deal with noise pollution.

I don't know that blind people have a problem using Bing. If they do I don't recall hearing it mentioned until now. In my case I am just used to Google and have it configured to give me personalized results, so I have never really bothered with Bing. For all I know it might be easy to use.

While it is true that I would be classified as sighted I am slowly but surely becoming one of the blind, but I can undoubtedly fit the classification of being 'old' and technically 'inept'. So I guess I am catching up on you.

Bing isn't easy for me to use. You are fully sighted. Please do remember

Miriam:
In my exposition I was simply adding (placing or putting in) my concept of
your opinion. Google, of course, is entitled to their opinion. I am
extremely pleased to find that you searched for other definitions. The
next time try Bing as well as Google. The answers obtained are a function
of the questions asked by the search engine. I often find that repeated or
varied searches report opinions rather than definitions.

Oh no, I did what you do. I googled it after writing my definition
and the
results are in two posts of mine and Google agrees with me!

Miriam:
The correct definition (in your opinion and experience) being your
comment
in the following paragraph. However, Carl is on a different wave
length
than you and he expresses his opinion (based upon his opinion and
experience).
Pax vobiscum.

with our
ages, I
suppose.

All:
Why worry. Carl is comfortable with his concept of God and
His
creation. I
am comfortable with his holding that idea and wish him luck.

Chuck,

It's been a long running discussion. Carl insists
that God
is a
concept made
up by man, but he also insists that he's an
agnostic. Roger
and I
have been
telling him, perhaps for more than a year, that he's
an
atheist.

As a hard-core atheist I would agree with this
definition. I
just
happened
to catch this message as I am way behind in emails
so I
haven't been
following much lately. An Agnostic is someone who in
simple
terms
doesn't
know whether there is a god or any other deities or
who
doesn't want
to
commit to such a statement. I will have to go back
and try
to find
Carl's
original post. Arm out of sling as of doctor's
appointment
today so
I may be
more regular again on the computer.

from Google

Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of
gods; it
is a lack
of
belief in gods. Older dictionaries define atheism as
"a
belief that
there is
no God."

Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of
belief in the
existence of
deities.[1][2] In a narrower sense, atheism is
specifically
the
position
that there are no deities.inclusively, atheism is
the
absence of
belief that
any deities exist.[ It seems to me that this
describes your
belief.
That is
why I say that you are not an agnostic.
