Just a few reminders:

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is conducting a series of town hall meetings to listen to the public’s concerns and to provide information about the conservation and stewardship of Kentucky ’s natural resources. This is a perfect opportunity for those concerned about the proposed Kentucky sandhill crane season to voice concerns to Commissioner Jon Gassett.

The final two meetings rescheduled from December include:

· Morehead, 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 10, for the Eighth Wildlife District. The meeting will be held at the Carl Perkins Center , located off KY 32 in Morehead. This district includes Bath, Bourbon, Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, Nicholas, Rowan and Wolfe counties.

· Edgewood, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, for the Fifth Wildlife District. The meeting will be held at the Edgewood Senior Center , 550 Freedom Park Drive , Edgewood . This district includes Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Henry, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton, Robertson and Trimble counties.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming sandhill crane weekends at Barren River. Come learn about and take part in tours to see the migrating sandhills – a truly amazing spectacle of 100s-1,000s of cranes staging at Barren River before continuing their trip south.
