And as a cynic, I can guarantee that any party will promise anything to anyone
if that will give them even a remote chance to win. After they win, they can
say that the promise will not be implemented because (among other things) the
previous opposition Government (no matter how long that was) spent all the
money (among other things).
IMHO, politicians are like Banks – they are all the same. It just the logo that
is different (and the talking heads). And I am also very happy to pay taxes if
that makes sure that, among other things, my daughter survives a sudden heart
problem because the hospital treated her even before they asked if she had any
private health insurance (which she hadn't, as it happens).

Learning "sciolist" has made this thread completely worthwhile.

Thanks Neil for writing it and Geoffrey for making me look it up!

Neil, that comment is a stroke of genius. I trust that fellow austechies will
know (or look up) the meaning of sciolist (yes, it's a real word) and not think
that there are two spelling mistakes in your message. For there are, in fact,
no spelling mistakes at all.

Like it. Like it very much.

Cheers

As a sciolist, I have to support the Liberal's idea of a Notional Broadband
Network ...
