iColor offers "generic" corrections (and specific corrections only for the
Quato displays). They averaged some WCG displays. It is better than nothing
but far from perfect.

You will have the same problems with any wide gamut plasma displays or LCDs
with LED back-lights.
So, a ColorMunki is not a bad choice if you consider the future.
You can pay for a software to use your inferior sensor with worse results or
you can buy a better instrument which works well.

By the way, you can't use your colorimeter in sRGB mode either! It works
with the same color primaries.
Yes, it will do something and it will be better than a calibrated Standard
mode but it will be worse than the factory-calibrated state.
