Lou,

When you said you replaced the whole hook assembly, could you explain in
more detail what you did?

Thanks,

Terri

I didn't take into account how many stitches I had on my machine. I
purchased my Amaya almost 2 years ago and I believe it had an older style
hook assembly. From reading the boards, I understood that Melco had changed
the style. I ordered a new one but kept it on hand; was a little skeptical
of changing it myself. Then I had a problem where a needle bent and broke
off a piece of the hook. I didn't have a choice so I had to install the new
one and was SOOOOO glad I did. The machine runs smoother now. I'm sure some
of the techies on this board can tell you the difference, I'm not an expert.
I just know the difference now verses then. Lou
