Yes as it was on display at a given price.

WhenChristmas shopping at John Lewis I saw some wind-up torches for £4 which I thought was a great price for a stocking filler so bought three. At the till, when they scanned in the code, they came up as £14 (not quite so attractive as a stocking filler). The girl called the manager who said she would honour the price. I don't know if she was under a legal obligation to do so, but was very grateful!

No, it's an offer to purchase at that price, the price can change at the till. Only when you accept the price at the till by handing over money, when the card details are taken,, is the contract created in most cases, and sometimes, not even then..

Hi,

I thought if something was advertised at a certain price that the company had to fulfil and honour the stated price.

Regards,

Mike

Does anybody know what is going on with the Talking Newspaper and Magazine Service?

Today I visited
http://www.rnib.org.uk/services-we-offer-reading-services-national-talking-newspapers-and-magazines/newspapers-andvisited

and saw that I could pay £16 for a subscription to Private Eye.

However when I tried to place an order today via the helpline I was told I would have to pay £49.20 for this and that the website was "outdated!".

Luckily I had checked the price before ordering.

I have asked for a Manager to ring me back about this but 2 main questions are obvious.
1. Why are they creating such problems by allegedly maintaining "outdated information".
2. How can a Charity possibly justify this 300% level of increase in subscriptions?
