Hi Louisa some people like myself had a blank message but I found when I went to Menu, View, Encoding and Western European Windows I could then access your message. I wonder why this sometimes happens.

Hello David,

I would like to apologise for any confusion. We have recently contacted our existing customers to advise that their current pricing won't change this year, but that we have introduced new pricing for new customers. For new customers we have simplified our pricing across the range of formats, so prices are based on the frequency of the magazine or newspaper, rather than what format customers prefer.

Unfortunately it has taken a little longer than planned to make the changes to our website, and we will honour the published prices until the changes are made.

Over the coming weeks we will start to offer "bundled pricing" for Talking Books, Overdrive, newspapers and magazines, so new customers will receive discounts if they subscribe to multiple products and services. Just like the energy companies, if these offers are a cheaper option for existing customers, we will write to customers to let them know.

Kind regards,
Louisa Muhsin - RNIB Newsagent.

That sounds like a lot of money. In my current edition of Access IT I am told that as an ongoing customer there will be no price increase this year, although new customers will pay more - but it doesn't say how much.

Does anybody know what is going on with the Talking Newspaper and
Magazine Service?

Today I visited
http://www.rnib.org.uk/services-we-offer-reading-services-national-talking-newspapers-and-magazines/newspapers-andvisited

and saw that I could pay £16 for a subscription to Private Eye.

However when I tried to place an order today via the helpline I was
told I would have to pay £49.20 for this and that the website was
"outdated!".

Luckily I had checked the price before ordering.

I have asked for a Manager to ring me back about this but 2 main
questions are obvious.
1. Why are they creating such problems by allegedly maintaining
"outdated information".
2. How can a Charity possibly justify this 300% level of increase in
subscriptions?
