Hi folks. Thursday 12/24/09 report. It was the warmest morning yet, 33 degrees, under the eternal overcast sky, and with a light rain putting a crust onto the 3" to 4" of new snow. The following birds were heard: Cooper's Hawk Red-bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Pileated Woodpecker Blue Jay Black-capped Chickadee Tufted Titmouse White-breasted Nuthatch Northern Cardinal Purple Finch American Goldfinch The only song I heard was a short rendition of the slower White-breasted Nuthatch song.
