The camera should always be listed as a device
and not as a "drive", for it is not a jump drive, it is a camera, whence
your problems.

Sandy........ an off the wall question.... by chance... have you ever used
one of those new little keychain thngies that stores files?.... seems they get
installed automaticlly as a drive by xp when you do.... they are the usb
connected external drives......and....... xp sets the usb port to see them as
an
external drives.... and since your camera uses the basiclly same type memory
device as they use...... just possibly may have decdied that is the way it
has to be.....I have one of the drives... and my son uses it at times on my
pc...... seems he installed drivers for it when he connected it up on my ....
in
my case it set a file named sm1bg.(exe) ....without the quotes.... in my
windows system folder.... created a bit of havoc until I discovered that
oddball
named file there ... deleted it and problems ended...... the drivers for
those devices are not needed by xp ... only for 98 and ME...... and if
installed
in xp create problems........ just a rhought..... chuck... in ok
