Al.
Even the heads have gotten "iffy".  Not long ago I ordered a Sony head for a
high end editing deck. There were asmuth alignment issues. (one head had low
amplitude).

Before that they sent me a "replacement" flyback that didn't physically fit
on the chassis it was intended for.

...and yeah, the attitude sucks....
