Had a similar situation with a sony generic replacment HV Block. Turned out it was HV Protect Voltage sampling off the Block was borderline low because the resistance in the HV Block was different from the original. Chk to see if your chassis has a HV sample wire from the block. if so, chk voltage for HV Protect Sample from S/M. Its a Sub for a Hitachi Part Which is NLA. OEM No: 173494. The Shop I got it for says the Following: "After I put in the part it worked O.K., but a week later I started having trouble with the power supply shutting down. You could turn on the set cold and it would work for about 20 minutes and than suddenly shut down, and than sometimes about 30 minutes later it would start back up again etc. I don't know if it is a problem with this part or something else, I haven't really had a chance to get back to it and check it out." I am awaiting the Model Number / chassis Number of the Set to see if this symptom is common , but was wondering if anyone here thinks the HV Block would be causing this? Or if anyone else has bought generics from them, and have comments to share? I basicly stopped ordering from ASTI because of VERY Poor Customer Service & an Attitute from the guy who answers calls. I know from another Group there have been problems with some Flybacks they sell for monitors, but if ALL their products are junk, I dont see how they can remain in operation.
