Hi John:
Now we know why Prochnow did not include the T Xenar in the Report 2
first edition, Ian Parker got the papers!.

Anyway I would be careful with some factory files, the original RolleiClub web
site had very bad info about some Rollei TLR models because they used factory
files that did not represent the real models description and production
numbers, I'm not saying this is the case for Parker's T papers, but it could be
at least partially. For example, the first factory production file for the GX
said it has 12/24 film frames counter and selftimer and it was not true, or
some factory files mention F models with Xenar and Tessar lenses and it was not
true, Rollei changed the model data file according the real camera
pre-producing prototypes were changing and then there are several data files
for the same model and only one is true.
There are cameras serial blocks shared between different camera models and
spare parts and non camera products, there are serial numbers blocks scheduled
for a model that Rollei never used or there are serial numbers blocks Rollei
needed to add to increase the production scheduled previously (the 2.8C is an
example).

Rollei contract with Carl Zeiss to CZ to provide standard lenses for the TLR
models finished in 1972, CZ no longer would manufacture high quality standard
lenses with simple or double layer coatings, they only would manufacture
multilayer coating lenses and then Rollei found these multicoated lenses
expensive too much for the TLR, they had new projects with Carl Zeiss for other
camera models (f.e. Rollei 35, Rollei SL 35 and Rollei SL 66)and then Rollei
did not renew the contract with Carl Zeiss for the TLR standard lenses, except
for the Sonnar dedicated to the Tele Rollei, a special lens for this camera
manfuctured up to the middle of 1975; the TLR sales diminished continously and
they decided to contract the lenses with Schneider only, it was the reason for
the T Xenar. In 1973 there still were brand new TLR cameras with CZ lenses
because Rollei Werke had them in stock, but it no longer happened after 1973
and up to Rollei Werke 1980/81 bnakruptcy.
