Not my experience with the 2401A.  I have often use full combine (2400 ws)
out of either of the two 400 ws plugs with no problems in 26 years.  There
HAVE been problems when assistants didn't push the plug in all the way into
ANY of the 6 sockets.

Also, if you put a head into the 400WS plug in full combined setting you
will blow out the circuitry for the 400WS plug.
